Adding a new hazard
Users with permissions can add new hazards. These hazards will be added to the map, and appear in the hazard archive. Other users of the software will be notified that a new hazard has been added. This new hazard will also appear on the home screen.
How to add a new hazard:
Step 1. Launch the HazView app and login.
Step 2. Report a new hazard:

Select the Report New Hazard button.
- This button will appear as an orange caution symbol.
- For PC and Tablets, the Report New Hazard button will be on the top left hand side of the screen.
- For Mobile, the Report New Hazard button will be at the bottom of the screen.
Step 3. Name the hazard: 1. Enter a name for the hazard based on your site's naming convention. - A name for the hazard is required.
Step 4. Add your hazards location pin to the map:
- Use the map to zoom into the correct location.

Left click with a mouse, or tap with a finger to place the hazard's marker pin.
- If you want to update the location, simply click in a new location.

Add an area polygon (optional).
- On the top left of the map, select the Draw/Edit Hazard Polygon button.
- Left click or tap with your finger to place the appropriate hazard border.
- You can place as many points as required.
- This can be updated at any time in the future.
Step 5. Fill out the hazard details:

Fill out each of the hazards details.
- The required properties can be controlled by eligable users.
- Options for properties include text, numerical, fixed values and dates.
- Approved users can update properties at any time.
Step 6. Add media and associated files:
- Select the media box, or drag and drop associated files into the media box.
- Wait for the files to complete uploading.
Step 7. Submit the hazard

Select the submit button.
- The hazard will be added to the hazard Map.
- The hazard will be added to the Table.
- Users will be alerted of a new hazard in-app and by email.
