Sites, Maps and GIS Settings

HazView allows administrators to customise their sites, maps and GIS settings. This will usually be set up for you by the HazView staff based on the desired configuration and number of licenses. For each site, you can control what layers are present of your maps. This may include areas, polygons, pits, strips and anything else desired.

  • Select the edit button on the desired site.

Current sites

Within the sites settings, you can:

  • View current layers on the map
  • Delete any current layers

Map Server:

Adminstrators have full control over which map tile servers are shown. This can be linked to any open server. Your sites current settings are shown including the min zoom, max zoom (offline), max zoom online and the tile size. For large sites, setting the max zoom will limit how many tiles have to be downloaded to a users device for offline usage.

To edit these details, select the Edit Map Server button.

GIS Projections:

Importing and exporting map data from HazView requires specification of that projection system is being used. This may vary depending on where your site is and what format your files are in.

Adminstrators have the ability to add GIS projections for their users use. Ensure that the correct projection is used, and the users understand what projection they should be using. It is the users responsibility to control this data and ensure it is in the correct projection.

For guides on how to find specific projections, go to https://epsg.io/

To add a projection, select the Add Projection button.
